“Come here bright eyes”
His words laced with objection
“How you doing?”
A futile attempt to break down her defense
But she has grown accustomed to their interrogations
“Never been better”
Sarcasm licking her lips
“Perhaps you should bring daddy a beer”
Amused eyes probing her every curve
Perhaps not she thinks
But she knows better than to deny an old alcoholic his remedy
“Coming right up”
Certain that he doesn’t want another
Certain of his grimy intentions
Feeling his eyes piercing her skin
As she walks away
